When Solange Knowles says, “Don’t touch my hair,” she means it.
The critically acclaimed singer is the latest cover star of the U.K.-based magazine ES, pictured rocking beautiful blond braids and an elaborate white dress.
Although the cover is stunning, the A Seat at the Table artist posted on her own page the original image, which features a statement braid atop her head that was cut from the ES image via Photoshop, along with the caption, “dtmh,” a reference to her hit, “Don’t Touch My Hair.”

The publication has yet to address the design choice but shouldn’t be surprised by the minor callout; Solange has always been vocal not only in her displeasure with much of the media but also in embracing Black beauty and natural tresses.
