Meek Mill

Meek Mill’s song “Dream and Nightmares” will make an appearance during the 2018 Super Bowl as the Philadelphia Eagles walk out to face the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Billboard reports that the track, which appears on his 2012 debut album under Maybach Music Group, will serve as the NFL team’s intro during the game.

“If you’re going to with a Philly song, that’s the one you’re going with,” defensive end Brandon Graham said of the Philadelphia native’s title track.

Defensive end Derek Barnett reflected in how monumental the team’s decision is for the rapper at this time.

“Meek, you know, he’s locked up right now. So we have to hold the city down for him,” he said.

In November of last year, Mill was sentenced to two to four year in prison for violating his probation from 2009. Both charges have since been dropped, but Mill has been on probation since 2008 following a conviction on drug and gun possession charges.

“It really lifted my spirit to hear the team rally around my songs because that’s why I make music—to inspire others and bring people together,” Mill said in a statement he released to Bleacher Report and NBC News Philadelphia last week. “The Eagles have also motivated me with the way they’ve overcome tough situations and injuries to succeed this year.”
