Syracuse University suspended a fraternity after a video showed a group of men simulating lewd sex acts and making racist, anti-Semitic remarks and homophobic remarks.

A professional engineering fraternity, Theta Tau, national organization said it was investigating what occurred in the video, but said the behavior exhibited did not represent the “very diverse organization,” CBS News reports.

“I am appalled by this and deeply concerned for all members of our community,” school chancellor Syverud wrote in an email Wednesday. “The conduct is deeply harmful and contrary to the values and community standards we expect of our students.”

Syverud said that the videos were turned over the school’s Department of Public Safety and that the students involved may face disciplinary or legal action.

The school’s student newspaper, The Daily Orange, posted the six-minute long video showing the raucous behavior. It was initially posted on a private facebook group

The video shows the group of men acting out an initiation where they can be heard laughing and saying, “f*ck black people,” “ni**ers,” “sp*cs,” and f*ucking k*ikes.”

Hundreds of students attended an hours-long discussion where they expressed their frustrations over what they deem as systemic racism and sexism at the school, per CBS news.

“We really can’t have this kind of culture on campus, it’s 2018 and everyone should be loving each other, and respecting each other,” a student told CBS Syracuse.
