Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins will soon be bringing the crazy, sexy and cool story of TLC to the Great White Way.
While promoting their upcoming tour with Nelly and Flo-Rida, Chilli recently shared in an interview with Cheddar that, “We’re also working on the TLC musical and TLC on Broadway. We’re going to create new music for those projects as well.”
Many fans may remember 2013’s CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, a televised biopic about the Atlanta R&B group. For those thinking a Broadway play would be redundant, the ageless beauty assured fans that there is plenty more to the group that brought us classics such as “What About Your Friends,” “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” Originally a trio, TLC has been a duo since the 2002 death of Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes.
“We didn’t tell everything,” Chilli said of the televised special. “We have so many stories to tell. We didn’t tell it all in our biopic we did with VH1. A lot of good stuff. It’s gonna be very emotional but a good ride.”
She added, “I’m very excited about that. I almost can’t believe it. I’m like, ‘What!’”
