Taraji P. Henson just completed filming the action thriller Proud Mary and is gearing up to slide back into her fur coats and high heels for Season Four of Empire. However, these aren’t the only two projects the Academy Award-nominated actress has on her plate. Next year, Henson will be reuniting with prolific writer/director/producer Tyler Perry for a new film.

The pair teamed up in 2009 for the family drama I Can Do Bad By Myself. In the film, the Baby Boy star played April, a heavy-drinking nightclub singer whose life gets turned upside down when she is forced to take in her 16-year-old niece Jennifer and her two young nephews. Perry and Henson had worked together in the 2008 ensemble drama The Family That Preys. This time around, Henson will play an entirely different type of character.

In She’s Living My Life, Henson plays a faithful wife who is tired of standing by her devious husband and is enraged when it becomes clear she has been betrayed. It looks as if the 46-year-old may be channeling a bit of Cookie Lyon in order to bring this story to life. The film is slated to be released on March 30, 2018, just in time for Easter weekend.

She’s Living My Life isn’t the only new Tyler Perry project headed our way. This fall, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween will hit theaters, and on Aug. 3, 2018, A Madea Family Funeral will premiere. In this movie, a joyous family reunion becomes a hilarious nightmare as Madea and the crew travel to backwoods Georgia, where they find themselves unexpectedly planning a funeral that might unveil unsavory family secrets.

It looks as if Mr. Perry is officially back in the movie business!
