The NBA Announces Its 2015 All-Star Game Uniforms

The 2015 NBA All-Star game sets its sights onto the “City That Never Sleeps,” New York City. In doing so, Adidas, the official on-court apparel designer for the league, wanted to pay tribute to New York’s storied basketball history, as well as integrate the unique boroughs and the city’s persona of being “The Mecca” of sports, music and fashion in their own special way. In designing the All-Star uniforms, they used individual medal awards highlighting individual accomplishments during the player’s career and esthetics representing the different boroughs that make up the city:

o   Queens: a pattern inspired by the stainless steel orbit rings of the borough’s iconic Unisphere that was built for the 1964 World’s Fair at Flushing Meadows – Corona Park

o   Staten Island: a wave pattern to signify its surrounding waters

o   Manhattan: a taxi-cab checkered pattern represents the pace and energy of the world’s most cosmopolitan city

o   The Bronx: a vinyl record pattern to pay homage to the birthplace of hip-hop and the rich musical legacy of New York City

o   Brooklyn: a brick pattern inspired by the iconic brownstone houses and buildings that make up the neighborhoods of the city’s most populous borough

As the weekend comes closer, don’t be surprised if these uniforms rise on the holiday wish-list of the basketball fan in your life. Available in both adult and youth sizes, you can purchase these wonderful uniforms at
