For those of you who get your jollies over the prospects of Beyoncé hating Kim Kardashian, you’re in luck with this new rumor. According to a source, “Bey does not like Kim at all. She’s cool with Kanye, but can’t stand Kim. The source went on to say that, “B calls Kim a ‘scandalous social climbing wh*re’ behind her back.” I don’t believe this. In my mind, it was likely Jay Z who said, “Bae, we’re both too big for basic cable.” [Radar]
In related Knowles-Carter beef news, Damon Dash weighed in formally about the now infamous elevator altercation between Jay Z and Solange Knowles.
On the incident: “I don’t think he should mad about it. I think he should be laughing. That sh*t was funny. Everybody fights. Girls done spit on me before but I be a little more ‘You better chill out.’ The shit is funny.’ Jay has to worry about perception because corporate people pay him. He really has to play that game. I thought what was ironic about it was people got to see how he played sh*t off. And how something crazy can happen and four seconds later when it’s cameras on they act like nothing is going on. I thought that was interesting to see that and how good he is at it. If people don’t like what he’s doing, he won’t get that corporate check.”
As for rumors it involves his ex-wife, Rachel Roy: “If he was tryna holla at my wife though, that’s kinda f**ked up. But I don’t think he was doing that. That would be bad. That would be dark. That means he really has some resentment but I would hope that that wouldn’t be the case.” [Rhymes With Snitch]
Benzino got kicked off a plane in Chicago for cursing a flight attendant out. Though it’s unclear what prompted that tirade, Benzino reported told someone on the plane: “You're an idiot. You're a f**kin' idiot. You f**kin' racist bastard. You're a racist bastard. Motherf**ker. You're a racist motherf**ker. F**k you." And towards the end of the tirade – caught on camera, naturally – Benzino appears to be saying, “Everybody on the plane says it wasn’t our fault.” [Hip Hop DX]
Meanwhile, the Maleficent of Basketball Wives LA, Sundy Carter, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of drunk driving. The 40-year-old was allegedly slurring her words and had alcohol on her breath. She voluntarily submitted to a breath test that yielded a result of .18%, which is twice the legal limit. Worse, she didn’t have a license on her. #Poordat, Sundy. [Los Angeles Times]
Busta Rhymes owes Uncle Sam a smooth $789,577.90 in back taxes. The Department of the Treasury placed two liens on Busta Buss — one for $611K in taxes in 2008 and another $178K in 2012. For seven minutes, none of us should complain about our cable bills. [Funky Dineva]
Lil’ Kim’s baby daddy, rapper Mr. Papers, is speaking out on the mommy-to-be.
On her pregnancy: “She’s good; she’s fat.”
On wedding plans: “Yeah, yeah, all that. Of course, we going to do that.”
On rumors of Kim dating Floyd Mayweather in the past: “What that mean? [laughs] Ay yo listen, shout out to Floyd Mayweather. They gotta talk about me – I like it when they talk about us. Make sure it’s good. He’s getting money, so make sure to keep that that type of level where it’s at. But it ain’t nothing though – they friends. I f*ck with him.”
Good luck, girl. [The Home of Hip Hop]
Michelle Obama was so impressed by LaTanya Richardson Jackson’s performance in A Raisin In The Sun that she sent the actress a note. Julianne Moore recently read the note at a party held for the Tony nominee. In the note, the First Lady writes, “I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to see its revival. Barack and I both agree your portrayal of Mama stole the show.” I can attest to this as I saw Samuel L. Jackson’s wife’s performance just last week, but how sweet of FLOTUS. [Page Six]
Tina Turner is denying claims that she suffered from a stroke. In a statement, a rep says: “The fact is that Tina enjoys excellent health.” Oprah added on Twitter, “Tina had a bad flu weeks ago,” she wrote on Twitter. “She's recovered. And LIVING life! Sent me a single long-stem red rose for my birthday.”
The rumor stems from a random German Web site quoting a person Tina Turner doesn’t know. Naturally. [The Independent]
Whitney Houston’s family is not happy about the upcoming Lifetime biopic that’s to be directed by Angela Bassett. TMZ says, “We’re told the family has already expressed displeasure to Lifetime and made it clear they weren’t on board with a TV movie. Sources close to the Houston family tell us the estate is planning its own movie for the big screen—à la the This is It Michael Jackson flick.”
In other words, they’re mad about it, but we’re going to be live tweeting this movie anyway soon. [TMZ]
Tiny uploaded a wordgram on Instagram that kind of, but not really addresses her reported marital problems with T.I. and the altercation between her husband and Floyd Mayweather. What does this mean? The hell if I know.
