Tiffany Haddish won the Female Star of Tomorrow Award during the 2018 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards on Thursday (April 26) in Las Vegas. The Coca-Cola Co. was the presenting sponsor of the ceremony at Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace.
Haddish delivered a hilarious acceptance speech after she was presented with the award. The jokester discussed dreaming about starring in films as a child. She revealed that she hadn’t realized she had done so much in her career this past year. Haddish even made light of being too busy for an intimate relationship. “I’m so busy I have no time for the D… I put a weighted blanket on top of me, so it feels like I got a man but it ain’t the same.”
The Girls Trip star said the ability to make others laugh as a career has been an honor. “I’m super excited and grateful for this Star of Tomorrow,” the comedian said. “They [haven’t] known me that long because I’ve been starring in my life.” The 38-year-old went on to thank her longtime friend for always laughing at her jokes, and she gave her recommendation for the concession stands at movie theaters.
