Comedian Tiffany Haddish has been cast to star in Tyler Perry’s new comedy The List. The movie will also star Omari Hardwick and Tika Sumpter.
The film will be directed and produced by Perry for Paramount Players. It is reported by Variety that Haddish will play the role of a woman who reunites with her sister (played by Sumpter) after being released from prison. The character portrayed by Sumpter will be dating a man she met online who is potentially “catfishing” her.
Haddish has become one of the most talked about comedians after her role in Girls Trip. She went on to star in a Showtime standup special, hosted Saturday Night Live, and was called out by Beyonce on DJ Khaled’s “Top Off.” The funny woman will host the MTV Movie & TV Awards this June. She is also slated to star alongside Kevin Hart in “Night School” this coming fall.
The List is scheduled to be released on Nov. 2.
