UFC Champion To Host Daytona 500

New York’s own Jon “Bones” Jones continues his streak as the youngest Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder and has been given the honor to become part of history in a new way — the honorary race official for the Daytona 500. The MMA light heavyweight champion has become a legend through the defense of his title, defeating such names as Lyoto Machida and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Bones’ participation in America’s historical Daytona 500 Sprint Cup series follows a trend that Daytona’s management had been following for the past few years. According to the details, Jones will perform the responsibilities of a race official in a honorary capacity and will participate in different ceremonies before and after the race.

Does the UFC fighter have the star power to convince Blacks to tune into the legendary race competition?
