Pretty much every Black person in America has been geeked about the highly anticipated Black Panther film. People have purchased advanced tickets not just for themselves, but also for Black youth and others they wish to see the film.

Let’s just say this is a huge deal. In light of the film’s release, campaigns advocating for a portion of the its proceeds to be donated to the Black community are growing steam.

Vivica A. Fox supports the idea; and had this to say to TMZ: “I think that’s an excellent idea,” the actress said. “Why not? The community will be so supportive of them. When you give back, blessings continue to come.”

Well, comedian and actor Gary Owen disagrees. When asked about the idea, the entertainer reportedly had this to say: “It’s not their responsibility … just enjoy the movie,” he stated. “It’s not their job to give every bit of their proceeds to different charities. If this movie does well, it opens doors for other movies like it …we’ve never seen like an all Black cast superhero movie,” he added.

Welp.
