First Look: WGN America’s ‘Underground’ Gets Premiere Date

If you’ve been anticipating the official premiere date for WGN America’s Underground, wait no longer. The drama will make its debut Mar. 9, and the newly released trailers will make you wish the day would come sooner.

Executive produced by John Legend and his Get Lifted partners Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, the series focuses on a group of slaves planning an escape from their Georgia plantation to the freedom awaiting up North.

While the first teaser gives us a sneak peak look at the slaves’ scheme, which is orchestrated by Noah, the second one reveals the masters’ efforts to stop anyone who even thinks about running away.

Watch it below, and don’t miss the stellar cast (Aldis Hodge, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mykelti Williamson) in their new show next year.
