BET’s American Soul has featured some of today’s biggest names playing icons of the Soul Train era, and Wayne Brady is joining the roster as rock n’ roll legend, Little Richard.
The next episode finds Soul Train creator Don Cornelius being forced into a complicated situation when Richard threatens not perform on the show.

Several other stars have been cast as legends on the show, including Kelly Rowland as Gladys Knight and Michelle Williams as Diana Ross. New Edition’s Bobby Brown will portray soul singer Rufus Thomas, known for the classic “Do the Funky Chicken.” Gabrielle Dennis, best known for her portrayal of Whitney Houston in The Bobby Brown Story, has been cast as rock n’ roll diva Tina Turner. And K. Michelle locked down the role of Martha Reeves, lead singer of Martha and the Vandellas.
Catch Brady as Little Richard on American Soul Tuesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and 8 p.m. CT on BET.
