Will Smith has a new role in the works.

According to Deadline, the actor will star as Richard Williams, father of tennis champions Venus and Serena Williams, in an upcoming biopic.

The project will highlight the plight of the 77-year-old Louisiana native. While raising his family in Compton, California, Williams drafted a 78-page plan for his daughters' professional careers as tennis players, reports Deadline. Williams, who has no formal training in the sport, would go on to teach his daughters tennis. Venus and Serena Williams became decorated champions in the sport of tennis, with the assistance of their father.

Written by Zach Baylin, King Richard is set to be produced under Tim White and Trevor White's Star Thrower Entertainment. Will Smith is currently filming the Bad Boys 3 and is slated to star as Genie in the upcoming live action Aladdin.
