Former ESPN reporter, Britt McHenry, claimed over the weekend that her 2017 firing from the sports broadcaster was a result of her race, saying in a Twitter exchange with a follower that she was “demoted because I was White.”

 

McHenry was one of many casualties during a round of layoffs at the time, according to NJ.com, with cost cutting across the board being the reported primary reason. This clearly wasn’t acceptable to the conservative voice, who posted and later deleted her comments about being let go because of her race. Here is a screenshot captured by NJ.com.

Two months after her initial demotion, she reportedly claimed the network handed her a pink slip over her more right-wing political views, saying, “I mean I’ve been openly conservative … look how that ended up …”
