Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star Eva Marcille broke into tears Thursday as she discussed recent domestic charges filed against her ex-boyfriend and father of her daughter, Kevin McCall.

During an appearance on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Marcille shared some of the instances of abuse she allegedly experienced while dating the singer and how she found the courage to leave.

"He was definitely extremely violent — physically abusive," she said. "His inability to have what people call self-control of his frustration and his anger and he takes it out — and he’s not a small guy, he played D1 football."

Opening up about the abuse, the RHOA star continued, "It didn’t start for me until I was pregnant with Marley," she added. "I was pregnant with my child, so. Then, about a month after having Marley, it didn’t stop. It got worse and it got worse with her. The final straw was when Marley was actually in my arms once and I was like, 'I can’t do this no more.'"

On Monday, McCall, 34, was arrested and charged with one felony county of injuring a spouse or cohabitant, Page Six reports. He was released on bond Tuesday and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.

The newlywed extended kind words to the woman her ex is accused of injuring. "So I feel sorry for that girl," she said. "I feel bad for women that have to deal with it. It’s actually not a laughable matter. It’s something that makes you feel so little so you really don’t want to talk about it. But it really sucks. And I hope that they keep his a** in jail as long as they can. Period."

Marcille and McCall share 5-year-old daughter Marley Rae.
