Trevor Jackson and Jason Mitchell, co-stars in the remake of the classic blaxploitation flick Superfly, sat down with journalist Raquel Harris after a screening of the movie to discuss their experiences working together, projects outside of acting and the flamboyant fashion seen in the film.
“To me, [filming] has been great because of him,” Mitchell says about Jackson. “It’s rare that you find people who are of your caliber.” Both actors went on to speak about what they do in their downtime, which includes music, and hinted at a potential collaboration.
When asked about the fashion-forward swagger in the film and what items from their character’s wardrobe they wanted to keep, both men answered excitingly. “My Balenciaga boots,” Jackson replied without hesitation. “That jacket in the picture over there with the pony hair … on sale it’s like $5,100. I need it,” Mitchell said.
