Award winning tennis player Venus Williams, was compared to a gorilla during the Australian Open.

ESPN commentator,  Doug Adler referred to Williams as putting her “gorilla effect” on her opponent, Stefanie Voegele, during the second round of the match.

Tennis fans are outraged by Alder’s controversial remark and have already started petitioning to have Alder fired. Since the incident, Alder has apologized, claiming that it was not his intention to be offensive. Alder said, he was describing her aggressive style as “guerrilla” tactics and not comparing her to a “gorilla.”
