MinisterLouis Farrakhan's profile was one of many marked "dangerous" removed from Facebook and its other services including Instagram and dedicated fan pages.
The social media network announced on Thursday that they banned the Nation of Islam leader— who often makes unfavorable and anti-Semitic remarks — along with other right-wing media personalities Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, Paul Nehlen, Alex Jones and his site, Infowars.
"We've always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology," a Facebook spokesperson told CNN Business. "The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today."
In February, Farrakhan said "the powerful Jews are my enemy" during his Saviours' Day speech in Chicago.
The Mark Zuckerberg-created platform has been under heavy scrutiny about the amount of extremist content and hate speech that appears on the service. The latest ban comes just one month after the company extended its ban on hateful content to include anyone that supports or promotes White nationalism and White separatism.
