Fenty Beauty's highly anticipated Fenty Eau de Parfum is slated for release next Tuesday. The unisex fragrance is described as both "spicy and sweet," which means that it's the perfect scent for any occasion.
Inspired by her mother's work in the beauty industry, Rihanna ventured to Grasse, France to work with LVMH Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. Together, the two created the one-of-a-kind fragrance.
“Going to Grasse felt like going into another world or realm, altogether" explains RiRi in a statement shared with EBONY. "I remember waking up, getting ready, getting on the plane, landing, and walking straight to the garden. Right away, you could feel the history in the garden. You're walking through it. You can smell everything. It's just an experience from the moment you arrive."
The fragrance bottle's brown hue is symbolic in nature. In addition to selecting packaging that embodies her personal identity, Rihanna also wanted to be sure that everything from the scent to the packaging would appeal to all genders.
“I wanted a rich color that really represented all genders from across all walks of life," Rihanna adds. "Brown is my favorite color. Brown is who I am. Brown is what I come from. If I'm going to make a fragrance that represents me, even the body language of the bottle needs to marry that. So, I wanted something brown, but also transparent. So you could see the liquid and the fragrance you're about to experience."
