A Florida woman went on a racist and violent outburst against a Black police officer following her arrest on charges of drunken driving.

According to a police report obtained by BuzzFeed, Julie Edwards told Volusia County Sherriff’s Office deputy Brandon King that her “KKK friends would burn his family” and that “ni**ers should’ve never been let out of slavery.”

The 53-year-old was charged with making threats to a police officer, resisting an officer without violence, driving under the influence and prior refusal to submit to testing, according to BuzzFeed News.

King responded to a call that there was a disturbance at a home in DeLand, Florida. When he arrived, he saw Edwards trying to leave in her vehicle, according to the report.

King noticed that Edwards’ breath smelled of alcohol and that she slurred her words. She reportedly refused to take a Breathalyzer or perform a field sobriety test.

Edwards began hurling racist slurs toward King after he handcuffed her and placed her inside his car.

"Before you go on a racist rant, just remember we have body cameras,” King said in an edited video released by the sherriff’s office on Tuesday.

In addition to her KKK comment, she said, “Ain’t a damn thing wrong with a burning cross in your hard, is there?” She added: “You fu**ed with the wrong White people.”

She also said, "You should never be here in the first place. You ever been whipped on a whipping post?"

The report said that King took Edwards’ threats seriously and did not know what she was capable of. “Deputy King is of African-American descent and knows the history behind the KKK and the pain and torture they have caused and still cause to African-Americans today," according to the police report.

Edwards has had previous run-ins with the law. She was arrested twice in 2011 on charges that included DUI, resisting arrest with violence, batter on a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic batter, per jail records obtained by BuzzFeed News.
