The unexpected and tragic death of Rodney King has taken a suspicious turn, as police are now zeroing in on his fiancée, Cynthia Kelley, for more answers. When King was found at the bottom of his pool over the weekend, Kelley was the only person in the home with him before he died. Upon calling the police at 5:25 a.m. Sunday morning, she claims, after having a conversation with King, she heard a banging on the window of their home and later heard him fall into their pool. She said she didn’t jump in to save him because she’s not a good swimmer.

Police claim that when asked to recount her original story, facts changed, leading them to think she’s covering something up. Tuesday, the Los Angels Times reported that Sandra Gardea, King’s neighbor, heard a man sobbing at the King residence the night in question. At this point, the much anticipated autopsy report may be the best indicator of what actually happened that early morning.
