A guest on a Fox News program said Thursday that African-Americans “need to move on” from slavery, according to HuffPost.

Mark Steyn appeared on Tucker Carlson tonight and spoke about Democrats running for president in 2020. He referred to Sen. Kamala Harris (D-California) and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, who have said Black people should get reparations if they were affected by slavery.

“Slavery was abolished a century and a half ago; nobody alive today has a grandparent who was a slave, and in that sense I think you reach a point where, you know, you need to move on,” Steyn told Carlson.

Steyn added: “This is nothing real to the lived experience of people of all kinds of identities today, and certainly not to Kamala Harris,” referencing that California senator’s experience is different because her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian.
