Issa Rae will be hosting the 37th Annual CFDA Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski this June. Despite the awards honoring women like Rihanna and Janelle Monáe, the 33-year-old actress will be the first female host of the show in nearly a decade.

Issa took to her Twitter earlier this week to announce the big news. “So excited to announce that I will be hosting the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on June 4th!” the Insecure creator wrote. “Mark your calendars!”

Steven Kolb, the president and CEO of the CFDA, discussed the legendary show’s decision to hire the writer. “Issa Rae is leading a new generation of performers who use their voice and humor to discuss social topics in a way that is relatable and poignant.”

Adding Issa as the host isn’t the only historic move for the Council of  Fashion Designers of America. The show will also be taking place in Brooklyn for the first time ever.

The CFDA will announce this year’s ceremony nominees on March 15 at 7:30 p.m. on their Instagram feed @cfda.
