The concert will be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the pop icon's multiplatinum album Rhythm Nation 1814, which released in September 1989.

On the project, the five-time Grammy winner was more socially conscious than she'd been on previous albums and addressed injustice, racism, war and substance abuse. Despite mixed reviews, Rhythm Nation produced a record-setting seven top five hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and was one of the best-selling albums of the 1990s, according to The Atlantic.

The militant imagery Jackson invoked for the music video, along with the choreography for the title track, became a staple in pop culture.

The superstar will perform a number of shows in May, July and August.Citi presale tickets for Janet Jackson's Metamorphosis shows begins Feb. 27 at noon PST; the general sale will start March 2 at 10 a.m. PST. Tickets can be purchased via ticketmaster.com/Janet.
