New Knick Jason Kidd was arrested Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated in Southhampton, New York. Around 1:45 a.m. Kidd crashed his car into a telephone pole in the upstate vacation town, alerting police. After being released from the hospital with minor injuries, the 39-year-old point guard was taken to the local station for booking.

The 18-year veteran and oldest player in the NBA signed a three-year $9.5 million contract with New York in July. Kidd, who has a history of alcohol abuse, reportedly stopped drinking in 2001 after going through anger management therapy  — court mandated after Kidd was charged with abusing his then wife. The team had no immediate comment about Kidd's arrest.
