The JAY-Z headlines just keep rolling in. After being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, shouting out 90 plus rappers on Twitter, and welcoming twins into the world with wife Beyoncé, it’s almost time for fans to dive into 4:44, the first Hov album since 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail. And while June 30 can’t get here soon enough, Mr. Carter might be putting some more big dates on our calendar this fall.
When JAY-Z and Tidal revealed that the mysterious 4:44 was indeed the title of the rap legend’s new album, the news was more than enough to put rap fans into a state of elation. But we all know that Hov is too much of a showman to just drop an album an leave it at that. Though fans have been predicted that the 47-year-old emcee was going to hit the ground running with a summer tour following the release of his 13th studio album, PageSix is reporting that fans should expect JAY-Z to go on road this fall. A source told the site that Hov is delaying his tour due to the birth of his new twins. Dates for the tour have yet to be confirmed.
Though details about the tour are scarce at the moment, all indications are that Jay’s tour in support of 4:44 would be a solo outing. Should that the case, Hov as the sole headliner would be a switch from his most recent tours, which include 2014’s On The Run Tour with Beyoncé, 2013’s Legends of the Summer tour with Justin Timberlake and 2011’s Watch the Throne tour with Kanye West. The only recent tour on which JAY-Z didn’t split the marquee was 2013’s Magna Carta World Tour.
It’s more than likely that JAY-Z’s fall tour will be produced and promoted by Live Nation. The rap icon signed a 10-year touring deal worth $200 million with the company in May.
