JAY-Z and rapper Fat Joe are collaborating, but it’s not for the reason you’d think. On Sept. 30, Joe will host a charity drive in New York City for the victims of Hurricane Maria, which has left millions of Puerto Ricans without electricity, water, food and other essentials for the past week.

JAY-Z equipped the rap veteran with a plane to get 200,000 supplies to those who have been impacted by the natural disaster. Talk about teamwork. The collaboration is one part of the Tidal X: Puerto Rico initiative to facilitate relief efforts. The Trump administration has been dishearteningly lackadaisical in aiding the island.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. will also assist with the music-streaming platform’s hurricane relief mission.

“As the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico grows, our brothers and sisters are desperate for our help,” Joe wrote on Instagram.

The Puerto Rican musician added that he’s hoping to collect non-perishables such as water, batteries, can foods and diapers at the Jacob Javits Center in midtown Manhattan. He said he’ll be personally delivering the items to the distressed islanders after the October 7 flight.
