Sports journalist Jemele Hill will reportedly leave ESPN next month, sources told Variety.

Hill, who has been one of the network’s most outspoken commentators, reportedly met with ESPN President James Pitaro about her departure.

Journalist James Andrew Miller first reported the news on Twitter on Saturday.

During her time with ESPN, Hill has sparked controversy over her critical comments about President Donald Trump calling him a “White supremacist.”

Hill worked for ESPN’s The Undefeated, which focused on sports, culture and race, per Variety. Prior to her stint on the show, she worked for the network’s highly popular Sports Center with Michael Smith.

According to Variety, Pitaro wants ESPN to take on an “apolitical” role in the sports world, not wanting its journalists to interject their own political opinions into their reports.
