As day 7 of the Zimmerman trial came to a close, attorneys have now identified 40 potential jurors that will move on to the second round of jury selection.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the group is made up of 24 women and 16 men. There are 25 Whites, 8 Hispanics, 6 Blacks and one mixed-race person of unspecified background in the pool at this point.

A few of the potential jurors are rising eyebrows; among them are a middle aged Black man who spoke against Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton for bringing attention to the racial dynamics of the case and a middle aged White woman who says Martin would still be alive had he not been kicked out of school.

Judge Debra Nelson has granted the defense's motion to keep names of the jurors sealed for an unspecified amount of time after the trial.
