Kandi Burruss Reveals Suicidal Episode from Childhood

In a recent episode of her YouTube series, "Speak On It," Xscape singer Kandi Burruss recalled feeling suicidal back when she was in middle school. The thoughts became so intense that Burruss admits trying to find her mother's handgun. "I had a bout in middle school where I actually wanted to commit suicide," she confessed. "But, praise the Lord, I wasn’t able to find my mom’s gun when I wanted to do it. So that did not happen, praise God."

Social Security Won't Be Able To Pay Full Benefits by 2034

Beginning in 2034, the Social Security Administration's trust fund will not have enough money in its reserve to pay benefits in full, according to a MarketWatch report. The latest projection is one year earlier than the one made in 2020, which Social Security Administration’s acting commissioner, Kilolo Kijakazi, says is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Medicare's hospital insurance fund is also expected to run out by 2026.

Eight States to Accept ID via Apple Wallet at Airports

Wednesday, Apple announced that eight states have agreed to allow residents to add their driver's licenses to their Apple Wallets for "seamless and secure" use at airports. Participating states include Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Utah. “The addition of driver’s licenses and state IDs to Apple Wallet is an important step in our vision of replacing the physical wallet with a secure and easy-to-use mobile wallet,” said Jennifer Bailey, Apple’s Vice President of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, in a press statement. Arizona and Georgia will be the first states to roll out this innovation to residents.

Alicia Keys Pens YA Graphic Novel Based on "Girl on Fire" Song

Alicia Keys has joined forces with Harper Collins to adapt her 2012 inspirational anthem, "Girl on Fire," into a young adult graphic novel, Billboard reports. “When I wrote Girl on Fire, I knew I was writing it for that girl in the way back row who needed someone to tell her there’s nothing you can’t do, that nothing is impossible,” Keys expressed in a statement. The literary work, which is slated for release in March 2022, will trace the story of a 14-year-old girl with telekinetic powers.

Kenya Moore Expected to Join DWTS

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore has reportedly been tapped to join the star-studded line-up of "Dancing With the Stars" for the show's thirtieth season, E! News reports. The former pageant queen will compete alongside Jojo Siwa and Olympic gymnast Suni Lee.
