Kanye West knocks GOP nominee Mitt Romney in the first song off of his "Cruel Summer" complication album, which is due in stores on Tuesday, rapping, "I'm just trying to protect my stacks / Mitt Romney don't pay no tax." The song entitled "To The World," which also features R. Kelly, is an obvious reference to Romney's low tax rate and refusal to release a substantive number of tax returns. The lack of transparency on Romney's tax returns from his campaign has been a continued source of tension and criticism during this year's election cycle.

Queens, New York rapper Nicki Minaj also mentioned Romney in a song. On her and Lil Wayne's cover of "Mercy," Minaj raps that she was voting for the GOP hopeful ("I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b—-es is f—ing up the economy"). Barack Obama viewed her rhymes as "playing a character," and being "sarcastic," and the rapper confirmed the president's theories in a series of ecstatic tweets.
