Last summer, Kanye West made inroads to his billionaire status with an announced partnership deal with his Yeezy clothing line and Gap Inc. The two were coming together to create a Yeezy Gap line that was meant to be unveiled in 2021. Now, an update regarding the relationship finds that there is a firmer potential release window for the inaugural drop.

According to Business of Fashion, a report claims that the Gap team is “on track” to launch the line by the end of this June. The Gap Inc. Q1 2021 earning call, which will happen on May 27, has many fashionistas expecting this to be the moment where more details on the Yeezy strategy will come to fruition.

“We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership,” Mark Breitbard, Global Head of Gap Brand, said last July when welcoming the formerly named “Louis Vuitton Don” to the retail giant family.

What’s known about the deal is that Kanye West will receive royalties and potential equity related to sales achievement from the partnership. The G.O.O.D. Music records founder will develop “modern, elevated” pieces for men, women, and children at accessible price points. There is no word on where interested buyers will be able to purchase these items, but West’s designs will be featured “in select stores,” as well as on digital channels “over time.”

The logo, which keeps the blue and white color scheme that Gap is known for, replaces “Gap” with “YZY,” and has been made as of April 2020.
