Kenan Thompson may be an Emmy-winning cast member of legendary sketch show Saturday Night Live, but the Atlanta native never forgot his Nickelodeon roots. The children’s network has announced that the funnyman will executive produce a revival of the show that gave him his start, All That.
E! reports that the new version of the '90s' favorite will be a weekly sketch comedy series with new cast members and feature appearances from Thompson’s fellow original stars. Kevin Kay will produce alongside Thompson and Sorry to Bother You actor and stand-up Jermaine Fowler will consult.
The original show ran from 1994-2005 and featured talent such as Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon and others.
Nick will also be bringing back another SNICK favorite, Are You Afraid of the Dark, as well as Rugrats, Double Dare, Rocko’s Modern Life and Hey Arnold!.
"We have a laser focus on who kids are today, and what they want, so we are making a wider variety of shows and series for them, and we're working with brand-new kinds of talent and producers," Brian Robbins, Nickelodeon's president, said in a statement. "We have a new creative team in place and a renewed energy that we're harnessing to bring the buzz back to Nick."
