After the announcement that Kendrick Lamar won a Pulitzer Prize for his third studio album DAMN. New York radio station, HOT 97 has also announced that the West Coast rapper will headline their annual Summer Jam Stadium Stage this year.

This will be the 25th year for the concert and it will be themed ’94 ’til Infinity’ a play on the Souls of Mischief’s debut album. Ebro Darden, Asst. Program Director, HOT 97’s morning show host said:  “This year’s theme, ‘94 ‘til Infinity,’ represents the 25 years Summer Jam has established itself as a mainstay in Hip Hop’s evolution since its inception and will continue to be a necessary stop for aspiring rappers who have dreams of becoming megastars in this industry.”

Along with Kendrick other major stars will perform including A$AP Ferg, Tory Lanez, Lil Wayne & Friends, Swizz Beatz & Friends, A Boogie and many more. Funkmaster Flex one of HOT 97’s longest on-air personalities reflected on the change in hip-hop since the beginning of the concert. “Summer Jam has been epic since the days when the music wasn’t considered one of the most consumed genres like it is today. We’ve worked hard to put Hip-Hop and Summer Jam on the map and this year will be no different.”

For the first time, ever HOT 97 is using an app “Who’s Next” to find an aspiring unsigned rapper to perform on their Festival Stage. Fans will rate the music of artists who upload to the app and those that trend high enough will be reviewed by on-air personality and Festival Stage curator TT Torrez.

Celebrating an iconic 25 years, the event will return to MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, NJ, Sunday, June 10. American Express Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, April 17 at 10 am EDT through Thursday, April 19 at 10 pm EDT.
