Jennifer Phillips is a huge Kendrick Lamar fan who also happens to be quadriplegic due to a spinal cord injury from a 2007 car accident. Attending eight concerts and counting, she hasn’t allowed her condition to hinder her from living her best life, which currently includes K.Dot’s “DAMN. Tour.” Back in 2016, Phillips created a GoFundMe for a modified vehicle and her latest tour venture provided the surprise of a lifetime.

Lamar gifted Phillips a new van with a note that read: “Thank you for always supporting me. Your [sic] a inspiration for me. You are strong and positive. Your[sic] kind and beautiful. For all the years of inspiring me, the least I can do is make sure your comfortable driving the city. A gift from me to you. Your[sic] always appreciated! — K. Lamar.”

I’ve been to every show Kendrick has had in Dallas,” Phillips shared in an Instagram post about K.Dot and his label. “Of course they have great music but they are also great people. None of them have ever treated me like a stranger or a charity case.”
