Black-ish creator Kenya Barris may be on is way to Netflix, but he’s dropping one more gem for ABC in the form of a Bewitched remake starring a Black female lead.

Complex reports the role of Samantha will be filled by a Black actress while her husband will be White.

The show summary reads: “they struggle to navigate their differences as she discovers that even when a black girl is literally magic, she’s still not as powerful as a decently tall white man with a full head of hair in America.”

Barris will executive produce the project through Khalabo Ink Society. He will also pen the series alongside The Boondocks writer Yamara Taylor.

The television executive also recently signed a $100 million, multiyear TV deal with Netflix to create new content for the streaming service, according to Variety.

“Kenya Barris is one of our great modern storytellers,” said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content at Netflix. “Kenya uses his voice to make audiences more aware of the world around them, while simultaneously making them laugh. His honesty, comedic brilliance and singular point of view, combined with the creative freedom he will enjoy at Netflix, promises to create powerful new stories for all our members around the world.”
