It’s no secret to Real Housewives of Atlanta fans that Kenya Moore and Kim Zolciak can’t stand each other, but one joke from the former beauty queen towards her nemesis has the LGBT community up in arms.
While Moore discusses new hubby Marc Daly with the girls, Zolciak repeatedly says the restaurateur isn’t real because none of Kenya’s friends had ever met him at that point. Moore responded by asking why the reality star was so concerned with her life while joking that Zolciak was born a man who underwent gender reassignment surgery.
“Why do you have such a hard-on for me? Didn’t they cut it off during your reassignment surgery,” Moore quipped.
The joke lead to her, the show and Bravo as a network being called out for using reassignment surgery as an insult, as many transgenders have undergone the procedure. See a few of the reactions below.
#RHOA @Andy @KenyaMoore’s insults by using Trans-hate was disgusting and unacceptable! She better be off the show after this! https://t.co/3fxOFNItdI

No girl… it was transphobic. You were using gender reassignment surgery as an insult. That’s not something that should be used to attack someone. #LearnFromThis
