For his Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show, designer LaQuan Smith brought nostalgia to the runway. Held at the Rainbow Room in New York City, his front row was packed with style connoisseurs such as singer Teyana Taylor, activist Bethann Hardison and NFL player Stefon Diggs. Known for his sexy dresses and catsuits, Smith's collection centered around Smith’s love for eveningwear, with a more tailored fit and a rock-n-roll vibe. We fell in love with a sensual sheer black blouse paired with tailored trousers and a blazer. We especially love the ultra-luxe coats in shearling, patent leather coats and oversized faux fur.

“This season the collection is inspired by evening suiting and retro elegance; sexy sophisticated grandeur with a touch of nostalgia. For fall/winter, the LaQuan Smith woman redefines glamour with a provocative approach," shared the designer.

Smith also debuted menswear. Smith told WWD that “I dressed Lenny Kravitz for the CFDA awards so I tapped into my menswear element, too. You know, like she could be wearing her boyfriend’s overcoat because all of the coats are just so large and in charge.”

The LaQuan Smith doesn’t need validation from anyone and marches to the beat of her own drum. But now, her man can also share her clothes and vibe.
