Saigon and Erica Jean to Sort Out Relationship Drama on Iyanla: Fix My Life

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest season of Love & Hip Hop, you know that no one could use a little anger management, holy juice, psychoanalysis and prayer more than rapper Saigon. Yesterday, he announced via Instagram that he’ll be appearing on the newest season of Iyanla: Fix My Life to improve the rocky relationship with his never-was-his-girlfriend but mother-of-his son, Erica Jean. (For those of you who have no idea who these people are, I think that summary gives you a feel of just how complicated we’re talking.) Frank Ocean Sued for Sampling Mary J. Blige

Well, Frank Ocean is not directly in the line of fire, but I guess you can say the folks at TufAmerica still thinks he’s a thief. The company—known for suing artists for copyright infringement on a regular (Jay Z, Kanye West)—is coming at Vivendi and Universal Music Group over an uncleared sample of Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love” interpolated into Ocean’s Channel Orange highlight, “Super Rich Kids.” This is the funny part: TufAmerica only owns 3.15% of the hit song’s copyright, which stems from “Real Love” ’s use of a tidbit from the Honeydrippers “Impeach the President.” In other words, they are suing Frank’s peeps for using a sample of a sample. (Are times really that tuf, America? Have a seat.)

Lauryn Hill to Perform at the 2014 Outlook Festival

Lauryn Hill has been making major moves ever since she was released from the pen back in October, and she’s not showing any signs of slowing down. She kicked off her highly anticipated Ms. Lauryn Hill Tour late last year, made her first TV appearance in three years on The Late Show with David Letterman last week, and now the former Fugees MC will tear down the stage as the opening concert headliner at the 2014 Outlook Festival in Croatia. Way to get back on track and make that money, Ms. Hill!
