Is this the end of the internet as we know it? According to a recent report from Google, the search engine behemoth announced that the bulk of its products will be help together under a new privacy policy. Under the banner of “One policy, one Google experience”, the company’s new policies are looking to be leaner and, possibly, meaner.

The idea is to “get rid of over 60 different privacy policies across Google and replacing them with one that’s a lot shorter and easier to read.” It looks like President Barack Obama’s idea of a stronger, more efficient America has already taken root. What does this mean for the millions of users who are still bitter from the taste of SOPA and PIPA.

With the change going into effect March 1, Google has made clear that users who are signed into their accounts to use any service at all will have their information used on other services as well. In short, consumers will be treated like singular entities all the brand’s services, including Google, Google Plus, Gmail, et cetera.

Is Google playing its users too close? Will they receive the same level of push back over privacy that Facebook got (followed by an almost immediate forgiveness and acceptance of said policies)?
