After an unsettling video of a woman believed to be 90s sitcom actress, Maia Campbell, asking for drugs at an ATL gas station surfaced, LL Cool J reached out in hopes of helping her get back on track.
In the footage, the woman tells the camera, “I want some crack.” She also alleges she was raped in the video.
Atlanta based-rapper T-Hood was criticized for filming the video and posting it to social media. He revealed that he is unapologetic for his actions and stated that things would be different if Maia was White.
Instead of pulling out your phone and filming someone who’s obviously having trouble. Maybe lend a helping hand? A kind word? @MaiaCampbell
It appears that Maia got word of her former In The House co-star’s attempt to connect with her, but has since done a video of her own. In the video, which appears to be filmed at a local beauty shop, Campbell can be seen saying that she doesn’t need help.
“Hey Todd, look bro, I love you,” she states. “I don’t need help, I just need a benefit concert for mental health. Don’t DM me, it’s really me and this is Darryl.”
Shortly after the sitcom ended, Campbell was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. In 2012 she appeared on Iyanla, Fix My Life, and was clean for two years as a result.
