On Wednesday, millions tuned in to watch the ESPY Awards.

While many celebrities graced the stage to present and receive awards for their outstanding contributions to athletic achievement, former first lady Michelle Obama was arguably the star of the show.

Mrs. Obama was tasked with posthumously presenting Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award sponsored by Cadillac. During her appearance, she received a standing ovation.

“I am here tonight to honor a remarkable woman,” Obama said. “A woman who believed everyone has something to contribute and everyone deserves to push themselves to find out what they’re made of and to compete and win.”

“Our mother would have loved you,”  Shriver’s son, Tim said. “She would have loved your forthrightness, your honesty, your toughness, your commitment also to get everybody on the playing field. She would have been so honored that you are here for her tonight as we all are.”

I mean ….is anyone at all surprised?
