Slay, Quvenzhané Wallis, slay.

Quvenzhané Wallis may not have been on the big screen in awhile, but you better believe she’s been hard at work!

The 14-year-old Trolls actress has embarked on a journey as a published author. She recently released a children’s book, A Night Out with Mama.

“I wanted to put my story of the night at the Oscars into a book, because it’s something really important to me, especially at a young age, going at 9 years old,” she explained during a visit with ESSENCE. “When children read my books, I want them to get the happiness I felt Oscar night.”

According to a synopsis published by Simon and Schuster, A Night Out with Mama details one girl’s very special night ahead of her. Of course, her mom is right by her side.

In 2013, Wallis was nominated for her role in Beast of the Southern Wild, making her the youngest person to receive a Best Actress nod.

She also writes the Shai & Emmie series, one that tells the story of two best friends who are destined for stardom.

Both A Night Out with Mama and Shai & Emmie are available for purchase at retailers and online.
