Study: Where You Work Out Says A lot About Your Personality

Where you work out says a lot about your personality. At least that is what a recent study conducted by Psychologist, John Hackston claims.

The head of thought leadership at OPP, a firm in Britain, confirmed the importance of this connection during an interview with NBC.

“People tend to think that there’s one best way to go about an exercise routine, but one-size fits all doesn’t apply here,” Hackston said. “Instead, it’s important to know who you are and select a type of exercise that fits.”

For example, one person may find that they prefer solo workouts after attending a series of group-instructed classes.

Hackston suggests that we first know and understand our personalities in order to figure out what the nest exercise is for us. He encourages us to take the Myers-Briggs MBTI test to determine this.

“If you’re a creative type, for instance, you probably have an intuitive personality and and variety is important to you,” he says. “In that case, you would probably get bored with the same old routine, so make sure you have some variety in there.”
