Teen CEO Seeks to Empower Youth with Subscription Box

To combat the issue of people of color often being misrepresented in mainstream media, specifically Black teens, a 17-year-old girl has created a subscription box in hopes of empowering and encouraging young people of color to embrace who they are.

According to a press release sent to EBONY, Black Butterfly Beautiful is a monthly based that is sent and curated based on the subscriber’s age, gender and this month’s theme. The box features books and other accessories ranging from Black-owned brands that help address under representation and provide inspiration.

The box also seeks to allow subscribers to uncover black history.
