A Kennadie original.
Kennadie, the Pattersons' multitalented daughter, reinvented this crocheted blanket (made by her aunt) into a beautiful dress.
Kennadie's doll clothes
brilliantly designed with recycled candy wrappers.
Kennadie's mom didn't know
what was happening when seeing all the candy wrappers in her room. She was blown away when she saw the dresses her daughter was creating.
Kung-fu fighting Leland,
age 7, won first place in his most recent karate tournament.
Kendall spars as a competitive fencer.
He started in high school inspired by his defense coach, who was also Black. "A sword in my hand felt more natural than a football [or] a baseball."
After losing weight, Dionne tested her abilities
further and became a marathon runner who dresses as Wonder Woman!
"Watching my wife run the half-marathon
at Disney and my son run the kids' race... that was awesome!" exclaims Kendall.
In Dionne's most recent race, she won an 'Oscar' for her costume. Her shield was designed by her daughter.
Guess who's going to Disney World?!! Dionne's mom gifted the Pattersons with an all-expense paid trip for Christmas.
Leland battling Darth Vader
at Disney World's Hollywood Studios.
Kennadie and her mom
in the race cars at Magic Kingdom.
"Magic Kingdom was a delightful collision of childhood memories relived with new thrills for us," Dionne says.
Dreams come true.
Thank you Disney!
