As the world prepares to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s passing, Twitter is gathering some of the world’s most influential people and celebrities to share their thoughts on the man who changed the world.

The social networking site is encouraging famous people to shed light on his work, legacy and his impact on the world today.

“To celebrate Dr. King, we are gathering celebrities, influencers and everyday people to share their thoughts on how Martin Luther King has shaped their lives, with the simple question, ‘How has Martin Luther King Jr. inspired you?'” a press release announcing the commemoration states.

Using the hashtag #ThankYouMLK50, Twitter users are encouraged to express their sentiments in reference to MLK.

Shonda Rhimes, P. Diddy, Lupita Nyong’o, Lebron James, Missy Elliot, Lena Waithe and more are expected to kick things off by sharing how they’ve personally been inspired by Dr. King.

The celebrities will also invite their followers to share their stories of inspiration via the legend.
