Great Black dads don’t receive enough praise for their efforts.

While Usher always tends to beam in the spotlight, his most recent decision has us all sending nods of approval his way.

In an Instagram post published to his account Monday, the “Confessions” entertainer detailed why he was a no-show at Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert that took place over the weekend.

“So happy to see that last night’s concert in Manchester proved that love always prevails,” the 38-year-old captioned a photo of the stage Monday. “I would have loved to be there but it was my son’s first day at Camp Kudzu, one of the few summer camps for kids living with diabetes.”

Usher concluded his message by sending words of affirmation to the UK, who experienced a tragic terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert last month. Reportedly 22 concert goers lost their life in the May 23 attack, and Sunday’s event was to benefit those affected.

“This was an important day for him and for myself as a proud father. Stay strong UK,” he concluded.

Usher was slated to perform as part of a star-studded lineup that also featured Pharrell Williams, among others.
