ASK B. SCOTT: ‘How Do I Find Love After a Divorce?’

I recently went through a divorce, I haven't dated in over 20 years. Is it too late for me to start dating again?

It’s never too late to get back out there and start dating again, love muffin!

“Dating has changed since your last go-round so your approach and expectations must also change.  The first step towards preparing yourself for the new journey is realizing that your ex is not your next. Meaning: Your ex-husband is not going to be your next husband, so don't treat him like he will be,” says my dear friend Jasmine Diaz a matchmaker at Shawn Mackenzi Agency

Don't get so caught up on the fact that you've been in a relationship for 20 years. You've also been with yourself for 20 years, and that's the most important thing! Dating now should be more exciting than ever, because at this point in your life you have a much better understanding of who you are as a woman and what you want in a partner.

Take what you’ve learned and use it to refine your quality of potential dates. Keep in mind that 20 years ago, the men you were selecting from were also 20 years younger. We all know how young men can be: fast, a little hot in the pants, and indecisive . Be glad you don’t have to deal with that young-minded mentality!

Go put on your ‘freakum dress’, some cute shoes, get your hair and makeup done, then go find yourself good ole’ grown & sexy man! True love has no expiration date, so you shouldn’t treat it as such.

Double kisses, love muffins! XOXO
